A Public calendar in Salesforce is used to manage shared resources or group activities. For example, track group events like meetings, training classes, or vacation, or schedule the use of shared resources such as a conference room. To create a new calendar in Salesforce.
- First, navigate to Setup. In the quick find box, search for Public Calendar.
- Click New
- Fill the calendars name , And let’s select this active checkbox
- Click Sharing

Before implementing Salesforce calendar sharing, if a s needed to access another user’s schedule, they had to directly inquire and manually record their events and tasks. In large organizations with numerous Salesforce users, gathering meeting schedules and events becomes cumbersome. Salesforce calendar sharing addresses this issue by providing access to multiple users, roles, personal groups, roles and subordinates, and public groups.
- Click Add , Select public groups, Share with
- Navigate to Calendar Access and choose your preferred sharing settings for the new calendar.
- Full Access: No restrictions on viewing, planning, and adding events.
- Show Details: Allows viewing of upcoming event details.
- Show Details and Add Events: View details and add new events.
- Hide Details: Shows calendar availability without event specifics.
- Hide Details and Add Events: Conceals event information while enabling new event additions.
